World Hip Hop

Dance around the world in this unique dance class aimed to celebrate hip hop in a cultural context. A predominantly funky dance style infusing hip hop with world styles such as Latin, African & Bollywood. Rachel will take you on a journey and show you how to incorporate cultural elements into this funky dance style.

Details:

Where: Seaview St Hall, Dulwich Hill
When: 8 weeks (school terms). Please inquire about start dates
Time: 5pm-5.45pm (directly after the Choir)
Cost: $96 per term ($12 per class)
Age: 5-12 y.o. (approx.)
Dress: Loose, comfortable clothing

*Please Note: If you choose to enrol in both the Global Kidz Choir at 4pm & World Hip Hop at 5pm there will be a $16 saving!

Please be aware that payment for the course must be made in full ona termly basis. An 8 week term will cost $80.

About the teacher

Dancing since she was 3 y.o., Rachel has trained in the practice, theory and performance of multiple dance styles. Her dance experience reads as follows:

11 years ballet RAD - 1993-2004
Performed for McDonald College in Ballet - 1997, 1999
Contemporary and Ballet workshops with McDonald College
Performance class (singing, dancing, acting) - 2000-2001
Jazz - 2001-2004, 2008-present
Performed in Hills Talent Search (semi-finals) as a member of the Constant Groove Dance Studio Showgroup
Represented Barker College in Performance Eisteddfod Team 1 in Jazz and Contemporary - 2005-2008
Contemporary - 2003-present
Hip Hop - 2005-2008 (dance classes with Sydney Dance Company incl. African & Latin Hip Hop)
- 2008-present
Performed Latin Hip Hop routine for Barker College

Currently studying:
Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern Expressive (Contemporary) and Ballet at Constant Groove Dance Studio
