Welcome to The Global Kidz Choir

Travel around the world through music to celebrate cultures from all different parts of the world. Bringing children together for multicultural music and song tells stories, creates new friendships based on understanding and respect, educates on cross-cultural difference, expresses emotion and well-being and promotes positive international relations. Through cultural and musical group interaction, a child has the ability to be empowered, build identity and experience a sense of belonging.

The Choir have performed at many community festivals since its inception –

Dulwich Hill St Fair, Marrickville Rd Festival, Newtown Festival, Glebe St Fair, Leichhardt Public School Festival, Taverner’s Hill Festival.

Public performances are fun, exciting and colourful as children celebrate diversity by dressing in the national dress of the country they are representing.

Working on the voice is done creatively through group musical games…a great way to foster the individual. Self-expression is encouraged and confidence built through this interactive, fun learning style. To encourage rhythm and co-ordination, various percussion instruments and some dance and movement are also used. Examples of instruments used are drums, handbells, shakers, tambourines.

Details

The Choir runs on an 8 week term and follows the school terms. It is held in Dulwich Hill on Tuesday afternoons from 4pm-4.45pm. Places fill quickly so registration is important to hold your place in the Choir!

Payment

Please be aware that payment for the course must be made in full ona termly basis. An 8 week term will cost $80.
